Hello all. This is a plant that belonged to my grandfather who is now deceased, so I really need to save it. Any suggestions. Its a philodendron.

If it was mine I would trim off the dead and leggy material and resist any temptation to over water - once a week should be sufficient; but humidity can vary, so I would let the soil dry out before watering again. Be sure the bottom saucer, if you are using one, is not collecting or holding water that then wicks up into the soil and does not allow the plant to dry out between waterings - very few plants like that condition.

How often have you been watering it? What have you been feeding it? Where is the plant located in your home - near a window or heater, or....?
