I've been noticing a rash of dying Monkey Puzzle trees (Araucaria araucana) in the Surrey area for the last couple years - haven't really seen this elsewhere in the Lower Mainland. From what little I can tell they don't seem to be standing in too boggy or alkali a soil, nor is there any obvious evidence of disease, nor anything else. For the most part the dying trees are fairly young (up to about 10 years), and the older ones appear perfectly alright. Any thoughts? Thanks, Lia
I've noticed some recent mortality down here also. Of long-established specimens. Species is also having trouble in the wild, which is what I thought your post was going to be about.
