litterally over the last couple of days my cactus has gone from looking healthy to dying. I replanted about a month ago and it looked like it took to this fine (although i was concerned i may have disturbed the roots). I have attached a pic. Any advice on how to attempt to save or how to approach cutting remaining healthy parts to transplant?

Hmm looks like a Euphorbia to me (not sure if I'm right though). I had one a long time ago that got top heavy and fell over; damaging the roots. As a result of the root damage it died soon thereafter. I'd suggest cutting out all watering for the next while so as to try to let the roots heal (as that might be the problem. Other than that, did you move it after the repot? Is it getting enough light? Too hot/cold etc?). Did you give it some time after repotting without water to let the roots heal over? That might be part of the problem. If you think that all is lost you might want to take a cutting now just in case.

I hope that you have better luck than I did with mine!

Yes, it does look like a Euphobia, possibly an African Milk Tree (Euphorbia trigona) The pot looks a little big for the plant, keeping the soil wet perhaps.

Is it still alive? If that branch is still healthy, you might try, as an extreme measure, breaking it off and re-planting it. At worst, it'll die, which it would have done anyway. At best, you'll have two cacti! With luck, one will survive when the other moves to the great desert in the sky.
