Normally I could find this kind of thing out on my own, but there's very little to help me identify this one without some knowledgeable help. I found this at work and took it upon myself to try and keep it alive. It's done anything but thrive, though it isn't dying. I water it with about 100ml of water every couple of weeks. Seems to be a succulent of some sort, but I'm not sure. Pics are attached.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Better to use the attachment feature here on the forums. I'm getting a no hotlinks error, and fortunately the person at the other end of that website is kind enough not to use something obscene as a replacement image.

Thanks. I couldn't find the attachment feature at first. Had to hunt a bit. :)

I've put animals to sleep that are experiencing less suffering. Let it go. : (

Does that bowl drain??? Are there holes in it?? If not, that may well be your problem.

Hahaha. Yeah, I should likely put it out of it's misery. You and my co-workers agree, but I want to persevere.

To answer your question, no - it has no holes. The water is usually sapped up mostly by those rocks (and some beads?) and I typically only wet the roots. Not sure if this thing wants LOTS of water or very little.

Any ideas what it is/was/might be?

I know of no tropical plant that does well in a closed bowl. I also realize bamboo grow at the edge of water but you'd likely do better by putting it in a fairly large pot that drains (if it survives) and then sit that pot in a very shallow pan of water so the soil can pull the water back up to the roots like a wick. I've seen them grow along the edge of several of the rivers in Jamaica many times. And I know there are a few bamboo growers on this board so hopefully one will get here in time with some very good advice.

I'm pretty sure it's unsalvageable - it's been the same way for the past year (though I did get a new green shute to appear from the base of the main stalk). Still, I would be interested in knowing what it was. I'd like to get a healthy one and see what it should have looked like. :)

I think we will have to wait to see what comes of that new green shoot before an id is possible
