Hello everyone, I'm interested in growing dwarfing citrus trees inside my home (with perhaps outdoor excursions in the summer?) in the Toronto area. Could someone recommend a nursery in the Toronto area that carries dwarfing meyer lemon trees? Also, I'd like to try a grapefruit as well. My web searching has suggested that the oro blanco variety can tolerate colder temperatures. Does any grower produce a dwarfing variety of this, and if so, where should I look to acquire one? Thank you. - Daniel
There have been past postings citing sources for citrus around Toronto. They can be retrieved using the forums' search function. Oroblanco is probably the best grapefruit/hybrid for producing a sweet fruit in a lower heat environment. It's not commonly available in my area but I have seen it on occasion. I believe they were imported from a company in the U.S. For a Canadian source, you may want to check with Fruit Trees and More and Tiny Tom's Tangerine Farm.
