I am looking for an apple tree for my garden that produces red, eating apples (as opposed to cooking varieties). I want one that is hardy, disease resistant, preferable self pollinating, and not to big, 12 feet max (semi dwarf?). It will be going in a 12 inch raised bed against a fence, facing south east and will receive a lot of sunlight. I live in north Vancouver, above the highway so we are a bit colder up here. Can anyone recommend a variety? Oh yeah I also want it to produce apples in the next couple of years. Thanks!!
there are some 100 cultivars that are self-fertile or nearly;part [where a cross increases production]. try a winston, braeburn or cox orange pippin on M7.
