I planted two dwarf apple trees about four years ago. Now, all of a sudden, the leaves are brown and it looks like the tree is dying. And I mean the leaves turned brown and are falling off! Any ideas?
Graft failure is a possibility but given that it happened to both trees, I would suspect either drought or a pathogen. Once you're at the stage that the tree is losing all the leaves, you've probably lost it.
