Probably a Salvia species--unless the flowers were more like a dragonfly, with projecting parts all on the same plane. Have you Googled "dragonfly bush" or "dragonfly flower"?

Hi! Some of the salvia species look similar, but I haven't found a match yet. Searches for dragonfly bush and dragonfly flower tend to return pictures of dragonflies on a bush or flower, and I haven't found my mystery plant using that method yet.

In response to your suggestion, I think the petals are on the same plane, and the individual petals were smooth edged, like a shorter daisy petal. They were, as I recall, a baby blue / royal blue combination with the very pronounced curved stems.

It could be that my memory is growing less accurate as time passes.

I wondered about that one myself.
