I am concerned about the health of this fir tree located in Gibsons B.C. The tree is a meter in diameter and about forty meters tall.

Would someone please tell me what's up with the copious amounts of sap flowing down the tree from a crevice in the bark?

I have no idea whether the two picture attachments will work or not, if not, then the sap covers an area about a half meter wide and three meters tall - - very unusual to me. I would like to know if this tree is in poor health. Other than for this sap, the tree looks great!

Have consulting arborist(s) look at it in person.

The sap running down is the trees' method of healing itself.
You mentioned a crevice. The tree could have been struck by lightning.
