Last year there was a spectacular Wisteria bloom at the end of May/beginning of June which wraps around the crown of this Douglas Fir. I'm away for 7 weeks and took the photo today which only shows promise, so if any locals in the Vancouver area want to drive out here you can google the address for directions. I was astonished when I stumbled upon it ... and definitely MUCH more impressive than this photo.
Unfortunately it has pretty much killed the upper half of the tree. Other, larger examples here are more in balance. Often the host in these instances is Thuja plicata.
