I just cut into a ripe nectarine, and it split in half. Inside the pit were 2 seeds! Has anyone ever seen this before?

Yes, fairly frequent to get two seeds inside the stone. It's more unusual for the stone to split so easily, but it does happen from time to time. Usually, they're tough nuts to crack.

Thanks for the reply. I've had the opposite happen-I've gotten lots of peaches & nectarines that the stone will split in half, and this is the first double seeded one I've ever seen. I'll keep hunting, because I love them both! Thanks again!
