    HI
    My name: Phil
We have several dahlia's in our yard but only one has a double flower on one stem, It appears as if the second bloom is coming directly frow the rear of the existing flower, I do not know the variety of the dahlia but it has 8 petals, purple and white in colour with bright yellow centre. Is this unusual, would it be usefull for breeders.

There are tens of thousands of different types of Dahlia.

Thanks for the info. I believe you are correct, your descrition of siamese twins is spot on.
Is it worth preserving? Would a professional grower have any use for this type of mutant?
