About 38 days ago I erected a wood fence around our back yard we did some digging around our Dogwood tree to put in Wood Post. the closes one was about 1 ft from the baseand another about 1 yard from the base. About 19 days ago we noticed the leaves on the tree starting wilt and it has continued. I am very upset, can anyone give me advice.
    Thank you in advance.

Yes, you could very well have damaged it. Impossible to say much without more information.

The information that would be helpful, would be how large this dogwood is, did you cut though more than one large root (that collects water/nutrients from the feeder roots), did you use cresote on the posts that you installed.......all this would be helpful and would be a cause to your wilting.....
In the meantime, I would give it water....keeping the area moist, to see if the other roots will compensate for any root loss.
