Hi, my dog ate a few leaves from this plant and has been vomiting since. I'm trying to identify the plant quickly, to see how long or if it's why he sick.

It's a rapidly growing 18" tall high-light garden plant. The leaves are ruffled with purple, translucent and deep green sections.

There are small white 1mm spears on stems below some of the leaves. The stem stalks are almost hollow with a lot of sap.

Thanks for any help identifying the plant.

Thank you. Looking at other images of the plant by name, it looks like that's the species. The ASPCA reports it's non-toxic so hopefully this is just an upset stomach. Thanks for your quick reply -- it's greatly appreciated.

Dogs often deliberately eat leaves to induce vomiting to clear out an upset stomach.

    Nick,
Hope that your dog is better.
If he/she is vomitting continuously and not bringing anything up them you might want to have someone look at him. Our dog will vomit occasionally and will eat grass either prior to or after. Her overall demeaner does not change after doing so and is not listluss at all afterward.
I am not a vet., but I can simpathize as it can be a concern.
    Hope all is well.
