    Hi,

I bought a small 1 gallon 'Fairy Hair' last fall, it was the last to show fall colors and drop its leaves some time in december. Now I am seeing that it is showing more bud swell than the orange dream (which usually leafs out the earliest for me). We has the potential for frost till mid april. Is this an anomoly, or does Fairy Hair one of the early "leafers"?

    thanks,
    xman

xman, I've been watching my Fairyhair since you asked your question and altho it is
not a super-early leafer like Katsura, the buds are swelling and it is close to its first
leaf so I wud agree with what you are seeing. It is certainly not a late leafer.

Definitely, looks like it's the cultivar of the season, everybody is talking about this tiny beauty!. I don't have any linearilobum in my collection, so Fairy Hair (or Koto Ito Komachi) will be my "number one" to add (I hope soon)....

    PTB,

I noticed you have been posting some very nice pics lately. Are you using a macro lens?

    Paxi,

    Appreciate compliment.

Same old camera -- the trees look great this year.

Yes, at this stage it's stunning.

I think the fall pruning/potting gave a dramatic boost to the spring flush this year. FH is amazing but so far every tree is better than ever. None had any chemical ferts.
