Does anyone recognize this invasive garden plant?

    This looks to me to be fireweed. E-Flora BC Atlas Page talks of 2 subtaxa present in BC but I couldn't say if one of those or another may be what you are dealing with - if indeed it is fireweed.

    It's strange - I never see mature plants blooming in my area but there are always lots of seedlings.

    Thank you so much! It looked familiar but not in a garden setting. It has its place, I'll just contain spreading.

    Thank you. There are plenty of seedlings here too. Oh my, so many. I'm going to have to ponder this new and interesting situation.
