    Hey,
I want to start making my own fertilizers from bulk amendments. Is there a way I can test the NPK ratio of the mixtures I make with some kind of electronic test kit. I realize there are soil kits that exist, but are there liquid based kits I could buy somewhere????

Any hydroponics supplier or retailer will have a variety of testing devices. You will likely find pH and EC (electrical conductivity) or TDS (total dissolved salts). The latter two will give you an indication of dissolved mineral in a solution but not the breakdown of individual minerals. I have not seen a device that detects individual minerals or the ratio of minerals.
