I have no idea what this plant is although I must have planted it as a growing green plant in a pot where I just discovered the corm? earlier this year. I wouldn't have looked at the root when I acquired it. The corm or whatever it is was quite firm when I replanted it a few months ago but much softer to the touch now. Trouble is, I can't tell which way is up . . . maybe I should just replant it on its side but I'm very curious to know what it is. (Definitely not a potato.)

I don't know what the heck that is, but the second image appears to be the right side up to me. I would plant it with the pointy sprouts pointed up.

Thank you Eric. I think it has been upside down in the pot so I will now try replanting it, pointy sprouts up.
