Hello, this is the first year we have planted much of anything, we have a tomato plant and sunflowers over by a tree line, we are very proud they are doing so well. Today while looking at them my Mom noticed this plant in the woods, we don't remember ever seeing it before, she thinks maybe it is watermelon or cantaloupe, I have no idea. We do throw scraps of fruits out that way sometimes. We would appreciate if anyone could tell us what it is. Thanks.

My guess would be courgette / vegetable marrow.

Hmm, I can not find a picture of courgette / vegetable marrow to compare it with. It does resemble the Cucumis Melo except the flowers seem bigger on ours than in the picture of the Cucumis Melo on the link? Hmm, perhaps we won't know until it grows something, lol.

Looks like a sqush to me (C. pepo.) The fruit should form soon and then it will be easier to tell what it is.
