distraught cypress

    I was hoping someone might be able to make suggestions why my weeping cypress is ailing. This tree was planted 14 years ago, 7ft at the time. as you can image it is quite large now. The problem is the top 3 feet has definitely died (yellow, brown foliage) Why might this have happened? will the whole tree die eventually? what can I do to prevent this?

    Could be weather-related, may not extend to rest of tree.

    It sounds like you may have cypress bark canker and I pity you if I'm right. See pics for some examples.
