I have found some very helpful people in this forum (Thank you all). So, I will ask for further assistance with my new garden. I live in South East Florida, zone 10-b. I have this small tree (which I do not know the name) with bad leaves. Is this a disease or the effect of a bug infestation? Thank you in advance for your info.
Thanks for your reply. yes, there are sprinklers pumping water from the nearby lake. But I have another tree/bush of this type close by and it does not seem to be affected.
Well i asked because when water gets on leaves of a plant and the sun is out it will have a magnifying glass type of affect and leave brown spots on the leaves. But i really dont know. It does look more severe than that. So you can try to get closer pictures of areas where the leaves are affected, and also try to examine the leaves to see if there are any insects on them. Good luck and i hope you can solve your mistery!!
Step 1 is typically to identify the plant. Perhaps repost photographs when there is a flower or fruit on the tree?
I have tried and posted it to the plant identification thread also... we don't know for sure. could be a ficus, one with thick glossy leaves, not the one used usually for edges. Thanks.
