Diervilla Sessilifolia 'Cool Splash' - southern bush honeysuckle

    A compact shrub 3 - 4 ft tall, and hardy to zone 4, this plant will freely sucker.

    An interesting thing about this shrub is that the leaf pattern changes; the green and white evenly marked leaves appear in spring and then the white recedes to just the edges so that by the end of the season the plant looks green. (both images are the same plant - the first image was taken about a month before the second image)
