Can someone ID this for me please. It was sold to me as a Dieffenbachia... No inflorescences yet... Ed
Has it got patterns under the leaf ? Aglaonemas have the surface pattern repeated underneath . Dieffenbachia have nearly plain colour underneath .
It looks very much like an Aglaonema hybrid I have .. very white .. never bothered with names for them ..
I'm not too bothered about the correct name, as long as I know its an Ag, but I'll still check to confirm mate
G'day Alfonso, that pretty much settles it then. I was hoping Russ might know the hybrid name, as I think he is into Ag's, but I will wait and see
G'day Ed, I will look for the hybrid name in the Exotica books, I am almost sure I have seen it there, if I find it I will post again.
Alfonso, I just asked Sandra75 to post her photos for id on here instead of indoor plant id, have any idea on the 1st photo. Can you have a look please. Thanks
Russ has just emailed me on this one and has informed meit may indeed be a Dieffy, possibly a new hybrid Starbrite.... Any other input would be appreciated Ed
Yes, this looks to me more like one of the newer hybrid Dieff's than an Aglaonema. I could be wrong, but the very stark, bright, white color is typical of the Dieffs, in most Ags white is usually not bright, mostly creams. Check Google Images for a Dieff called Starbrite, it's very close to what your plant looks like. Russ
