I attended a conference in 1996 where as a center peice on each table was a dried up plant in a bowl. As part of the activity we poured water on the plant and opened and became green - I think it even had little red or purple flowers on it - all within the space of 15 minutes. Can anyone help me find out what this plant was? email me directly: lloydbruce(at)eastlink.ca

    Thanks,
    Lloyd

Try "Rose of Jericho". It's very popular in Europe, especially around Easter.

Apart from Selaginella and Anastatica, which no doubt you have got onto by now, there is a sponge-like marine animal that was once sold as a novelty of this same kind. Sorry but I don't remember its name. Some of these things don't really come back to life, they just expand and open out when placed in water.

A source can be found in this thread in an external forum. Because of the nature of this product I wouldn't be surprised if it were available at a local toy store.
