Deep pink wildflower

    This is the only clump of these flowers in our field. They stand about 18" to the flower head if erect but they seem to want to "lean". Thanks in advance.

    Yes, thank you. It is definitely the 2nd plant - "Sweet William Catchfly". That poster said something about zone 4 which is slightly north of me. The plant came up in our field next to a large mound of leaves and other debris left by a landscaping friend of our son. I wonder if the seeds came in from that - as I mentioned, it is the only clump there.
    It inspired my husband to bring in a bouquet of wildflowers. When we couldn't identify this one, I said I would post a picture and someone would identify it within an hour!

    I Had Them Show Up In My Yard 4 Years Ago. I Found Them To Be A Accent To The Garden. Once They Turn To Seed The Plant Dies. If You Do Not Want More Plants Cut The Flower Before They Finish Turning To Seed. They Will Make Many Seeds Mailgirl
