   I recently purchased some Shell Busey's Home Cleaning Formula which I plan to use to clean the deck. It contains sodium metasilicate. Does anybody know if this will damage any nearby plants it may splash on?

   Yes, it will burn anything it splashes (it is very strongly alkaline)
