I am not a botanist by any stretch of the imagination. However I have a Northern Catalpa that is probably 6 to 8 years old. Starting last year it appears I have Macrosporium Catalpae which is how it is described in a USDA brochure I found on the internet. It seems everywhere I have looked it can be described as what it is but I have not found anything other than someone saying that Macrosporium Catalpae was harmless and need not be worried about. >: ) I am of the opinion if it was meant to be there then it would grow like that. Since it is also in my front yard it looks like I have a sick tree in my hard. Imagine a super model showing off sandals with athletes foot??? Is there anyway I can kill this fungus without hurting the tree and getting rid of those spots?? Thanks.
