I reached an agreement to purchase a home last november with a close date in february. Unfortunately, the previous owner didnt wrap the plam through dec/jan/feb and we had some cold weather. When I moved into the house in late february, the palms were all brown. I had a landscaper come in in early march and he trimmed it up and said it should come back this summer.

I just pulled out the middle section and it was slimy and came out very easy. Is there any hope for this plam?

First photo is from November...last 4 were taken today.

I've never owned a palm, but I know a dead plant when I see one. And I see one. R.I.P.

Your Washingtonia robusta certainly looks dead. You can always contact the palm "guru" in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Tony on the HardyPalms.org web site for his input. He truely has all the answers for your region and is well respected in the community.

    Cheers, LPN.
