The severe storms we have had in Northern Ireland last month have resulted in damage to the leaves of many of my maples that I have never encountered before
These were not warm dry winds, but bitterly cold storms, which have hit trees normally well sheltered
Just goes to show that we have to be prepared for every eventuality with the changing climatic conditions in the world today

Storms in May means rain, wind, maybe hail,....what do you think has caused the leaves to shrivel?

As Michael says, the cause can only have been the bitter cold winds, and the fact that these continued for almost a week. No plant could have withstood that without succumbing somewhat ...
