The severe storms we have had in Northern Ireland last month have resulted in damage to the leaves of many of my maples that I have never encountered before These were not warm dry winds, but bitterly cold storms, which have hit trees normally well sheltered Just goes to show that we have to be prepared for every eventuality with the changing climatic conditions in the world today

As Michael says, the cause can only have been the bitter cold winds, and the fact that these continued for almost a week. No plant could have withstood that without succumbing somewhat ...
i have similar damage and similar wind and wet condition,this is a incredible season in central Italy,of course i'm happy for this gratis watering,but this leaves are similar to hot wind and dry conditions :( however another good news are the fantastic plant grown some maples,for example acer tegmentosum grown 40 cm!! record!!!acer capillipese have the samaras!! bamboo over 6 meter...
