    Found this in the Woods near me this morning Daldinia concentrica or commonly known as King Alfreds cakes. The common name is quite apt due to where I live.

    Very cool! We don't have this in my region unfortunately. It looks so interesting on the inside. Does it have a preferred host?

    Thanks J, yes Ash and Beech trees but seems to be on several broad leaf decaying branches. Glad you liked it.
