Daikon - Lo Bok gone to seed.
Daikon Roots are short & skinny
Do I wait for them to grow longer roots which is the part I grew them for
or do I toss the lot
There are zillions of seed pods, and if they dry I will have enough seed to supply BC
    Thanks so much

Toss - once they've gone to seed, the roots won't grow. You must have a problem with the soil, or the roots were damaged by Root Maggots before they had a chance to grow.

    Thank you
there were a few that seemed ok, only about 6
    they were approx 6-8inches only.
    I tossed the lot
Just a thought; these seeds were planted in Feb 2010,
and they started sprouting around end of Mar>Apr
    Could this be the problem.
there were no problems with the roots that DID produce
    They were clean.
Perhaps I should have seeded them in October and let them over winter.
Not sure...........would you know when's the best time to seed?
I'd like to try one more time.
    But thanks for the info.

I haven't grown any kind of radish in years because of problems with Root Maggots in our area, but radishes usually are fast growing and like cool weather. So I would think that planting in late March or early April would be good. That works for related plants like Chinese Broccoli.
