I've got a persicum that I have had in a hanging basket for 4 days. Living in Birmingham, AL I'm a bit concerned because everything I've read (after the fact) says that they don't like heat. Now, this is hanging on the covered back deck and gets no (or very little) direct sun due to the east-facing of the house and a ton of trees in the back yard. Still, it gets up into the 90's during the summer and pretty darn humid. I've got the tip top of the corm sticking out of the potting mixture, slow-release fertilizer and have been keeping the soil moist. As of now the plant looks like it is doing good. There has been no yellowing or dropping of leaves or flowers. But it has been raining and/or cloudy most of the days since it was planted (it is not in the rain).

Any thoughts? Will this plant survive here?

I now have two baskets, one with white (from the original post) and one with deep red planted. The deep red one seems to have consistently yellowing and wilting leaves over the last week. I noticed that it had one or two when I bought it but thought it would recover (maybe it was overwatered or something before I bought it). It still has plenty of leaves on it but the white cyclamen's leaves are not yellowing at near the same rate. And the white blooms aren't dropping at the rate that the red ones are. Overall the plants seem to be doing well, with the white one doing better that the red??? The temp has been in the 90's for the last week.
