cuttings from a bush

    this broke off a bush on the side of our house.
    Its winter now i was wondering if its possible to take cuttings for it or root it how it is .I also have no idea what the bush is but it has very big pink flowers with it blooms

    Your plant fragment appears to be from an azalea. If the branch was placed in water shortly after it broke off, you might be able to cut pieces( w/preferably 3 nodes) and, using rootone or something similar, try to start as a regular cutting. Good luck.

    Yes, the whole chunk as you have it won't root, as the wood at the break is several years old. Newer growth near the tips might work.

    It's not an uncommon plant, though, and if you want more plants like it they probably aren't hard to find at garden centres. Growing new ones from little cuttings is fun, but whether it's worth it depends on what your objective is.
