I was wondering if I should cut this long vine down? I am not sure how Jasminum Sambacs grow. What do you guys think? Is it a sucker?
It's one long vine from the soil up

Jasmine generally respond well to pruning, so it probably would not hurt to cut it. I often find that mine will send out long shoots like that, which often have blooms at the tips, so I cut them back after the blooms fade. I never have really good luck with these plants. They don't seem to thrive. Maybe it is just too hard to provide the temp and humidity they want in this region without a greenhouse. But I buy them and grow them to get the fragrance.

You plant looks very yellow. They are normally a rich green. Is it a special cultivar or maybe needs some fertilizer?

The plant does appear to be under nourished. I find this plant responds well to severe pruning which I do in autumn, after the plant has finished flowering for the season. This keeps the plant bushy and compact and promotes flowering since flowers are produced on new wood. Note these comments relate to the cultivar 'Maid of Orleans'; 'Grand Duke of Tuscany' does not seem to react to pruning in the same way.

I have many types of Jasminums and about three of this type. I am not sure why this one is sort of yellow either but it seems to be doing fine.
