Worms or some type of catapillar are eating the leaves of my red currant plants down to nothing. I've been manually removing them but I am sure I can't get them all and I want to get them all. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the speedy response. Guess I just keep picking them off (leaves too) and feed them to my chickens. I don't want to go the chemical route. Christo

Hi Christo, Further to my post requesting ID last year, this spring, just as the leaf buds were tipping green, I doused our last little gooseberry bush with green soap-and-water solution, and then a couple of times more after that as it grew. Then as the leaves developed nicely, I sprinkled diatomaceous earth all over the plant. So far, (maybe in spite of my efforts) the little bush is healthy and green, but I'll keep vigilant. Lots of luck with yours! (Happy chickens?) Cheers, Lynetta
