I am a beginner, so this question will sound dumb. What are the dark brown curly shoots coming from my grape vines? Should I cut these off? It doesn't look like anything will grow from them. There are only about a dozen of these--the rest of the vines have bright green leaves and the beginning buds of new grapes (not flowering yet). I know nothing about grape vines, I just happened to move into a home (in southern Cal) that has vines growing in the back yard. Thank you!!

They are what the plant uses to grap on to the wires or whatever your growing your vine on. - Millet

If that's what you were asking about they're called tendrils.
