This is my first Jade Plant and I'm growing it indoors under a fluorescent grow light (SunBlaze 24" 2 lamp T5). I have the lights on a light cycle of 18hrs on and 6hrs off. I'm trying to match the hours I'm awake with other lights in the house on.
Not too long ago these phallic growths started sprouting at the branch nodes and at the base of some leaves. I was expecting flowers to follow but they have not yet after a month and a half of the phallic presence.
They grow out then wither away after a couple / few weeks. My initial reaction was to light a cigar and celebrate it as a boy. Is this the case? What are these things?

Does this means that root growth below soil has maxed out in the pot it is in and is looking for new ground?

You may want to do more research on aerial roots but according to this document,
This may be one means by which the plant propagate in nature; should a branch or leaf with these roots break off it would have a head start on establishing itself.
