I recently purchased a new home and this plant is in the back yard. It is great and would like to purchase more or know if it can be divided. I am new gardening and cant seem to find it anywhere online. Any help would be appreciated

It's a palm of one form or another... May be an areca palm, but I can't be sure from the photos. Palms in general are a bit rough to move about, but they can be moved sucessfully.

From the inflorescence I'd guess not an Areca but the photos are too dark to guestimate the species. Can you post them again with better lighting?

Chamaedorea sp. not sure which one. Areca (Dypsis lutescens) is too tender for New Orleans outdoors.

I'd say it is a Chamaedorea seifrizii or bamboo palm...

You know, actually, I think you might be right... I'll have to go double check mine outside, but I think that's what it is...
