Re: Chamaecyparis nootkatensis 'Aurea' Species now Cupressus nootkatensis, syn. Callitropsis nootkatensis, Xanthocyparis nootkatensis.
Re: Chamaecyparis nootkatensis 'Aurea' That is a lovely plant. Now is this plant related to the Leyland Cypress? I'm learning... How tall & wide does this plant get?
Re: Chamaecyparis nootkatensis 'Aurea' Check Stanley & Sons Nursery Karalyn. They have information for most anything. If not there, try The American Conifer Society/ The British Conifer Society 'Conifer Database' with dropdown menus or simply type in the name of any cultivar. Regards, Dax
Re: Chamaecyparis nootkatensis 'Aurea' Yellow coloring barely expressed in these views. Stock sold here is more yellow. Not as yellow as a good strong yellow form should be, but definitely much more yellow than plant shown, which only has some yellow on extreme tips - hardly more than the natural paleness of the newest growth of a non-yellow specimen.
Re: Chamaecyparis nootkatensis 'Aurea' Yes. Nootka Cypress is one of the parents of Leyland Cypress, the other parent being Monterey Cypress Cupressus macrocarpa.
