I live in Abbotsford. Will this tree survive in my sheltered west facing backyard?

These gold forms do seem to be prone to freezing in this region. Despite having been introduced to North America for a long time we have no large old examples - unlike in Britain and New Zealand.

Even the typical wild green tree is comparatively rare here; although there are some large examples these are limited to hypermaritime sites. I have seen very few that were not within view of salt water.
