Propagation: Cross-reference: Caragana Care?

This is a cross-reference to a more detailed post I placed in the ID section. Saltcedar has identified my new—but terribly damaged—remnant of a caragana tree.

If you have suggestions regarding caring for it, I'd love to hear. I am mainly wondering about cutting the main stem. Thank you.
