Just wondering what these plants might be, as usual :). The yellow flower is about one inch wide, the shrub is blooming now. I'm wondering if the next picture is a rose bush forming. I'm wondering what the third pic is, reminded me of blueberry for some reason, but I don't think their leaves are serrated. Last one, it's the young leaves of a large bush in the yard, the whole bush is about 7' tall, 5' wide, in the summer I know it blooms with flowers, can't remember what kind, but for some reason I'm thinking Hibiscus-like. Thanks.

    forsythia
    yes, that's a rose bush
have no idea about the third or last one. are those canes part of it?? the leaves kind of look like hydrangea - the canes don't match for that though. i want to say azalea for the last - leaf growth doesn't quite match even though leaf shape kind of does.

joclyn, for the 3rd pic, those canes are part of the leaves.

#4 looks like lilac (Syringa vulgaris) but your flower description doesn't match.
#3 doesn't have 'canes', those are woody stems. Bark and leaves are similar to Prunus species but I can't tell which one.

ha! i said canes because they looked similar to draceana canes...really did mean stalks.

4 doesn't look like the lilac i have. i'll take a look at it when i get home though - maybe i just never looked at the new growth early enough to see it looking like that...
