I have a dwarf corkscrew hazel, about 15 yrs old. It has been determined by my local nursery that it has a blight and will eventually die.Apparently there is nothing I can do about it. (I was told that in the US there is a chemical treatment, but not in Ontario). I am not quite ready to give up on it, as it is an amazing specimen!
Are there any ideas out there, or is my tree 'doomed'!

Depends on which particular blight it is supposed to have.

This is detrimental enough that resistant orchard cultivars have been developed in Oregon in response. I'd think that searching the web for "eastern filbert blight" would yield numerous hits, enabling you to decide how to proceed.
