I have cork like stuff on Herrenhauser Garten trunk . The plant is a Brugmansias . How do I get rid of the cork without killing plant ? How can I make it bloom ?

Tony, I'm not sure I see anything wrong here. Are you talking about the green? Can you give me a closer shot?

Btw, it looks very rootbound. When did you repot last? I see surface roots and that could be why it's not blooming.

What looks like roots are pine needles .
I repoted 2 months ago and started getting the cork-like bark .
My other one doesn't have it . It is about 6 inches shorter . I am keeping them apart . I was told it won't flower for about 2 years and this varity is hard to get to bloom . They were both cuttings after the "Y" . Had 3 cuttings , one turned to mush .
I'll see if I can get a closer shot tomorrow .

Gosh, pics sure can be deceiving. I'm thinking I see roots and it's pine needles. :) I'd love to see another pic. Do you know the name of this variety?

I agree with Newt, i cant see anything wrong with the plant, the powdery bloom on the stem is natural (if it is'nt, then all mine have the same problem as yours)

    cultivation tips
grow in a loam-based potting compost (John Innes No.3). From spring to autumn, water freely and apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every 3-4 weeks; keep just moist in winter.
