cork in the bark!?

    which is the reason for cork in the bark in autumn ? why the maple and another species product cork?

    All bark on all plants is made of cork - it's just that in some species (e.g. Quercus suber!) the cork is very soft and thick, in other species the cork is thin and hard. Even potato peel is made of cork - structurally, it's the same stuff.

    The reason for it - a protective layer on the outside of the plant.
