Cordyline help

  1. Hi

I bought a very happy and healthy Cordyline 6 months ago at Home Depot. I am not sure which kind, but the tag does say Cordyline. It looks like a palm tree, with bright green leaves that are outlined in a hot pink. After a few months my cats got a hold of it and snacked on a few leaves, then just over a month ago I moved from FL to NY, and the rest of the leaves died in the cold weather. I pulled the 6 leaves off that had wilted from the weather. I kept the trunk in hopes that with it being warm inside it would come back, and sure enough it did about 2 weeks ago. But this is where my problem comes in.....

The trunk of the plant, where the leaves had naturally died, is fine. But the top 6 leaves that I had picked off are starting to grow new plants out of it. At least thats what it looks like. I had never seen it grow like this when it was in FL growing new leaves. It looks like a whole new plant is growing out (Or 6 new plants I should say), and its growing *really* fast. I water it weekly, noticed it last weekend, and the week before there was nothing on the trunk at all (and was debating on throwing it out cause I thought it was dead) I took some pictures.... You can only see 5 here, the 6th plant is behind the trunk almost at the top, and just started a day or 2 ago..... Its a little bubble, about the size of a pen point.

The 6th plant thats growing is at the top, so I dont see anymore coming out of it. I love this plant and would like to replant all 6 of the plants. But how would I go about doing this? Are there roots at the top of the trunk? I have never seen anything like this before. And if I can replant this, how long should I wait? Should I do all 6 at once, cause they are all different sizes. I'm lost :-(

Thanks for any help you can give.....

Photo looks like Dracaena sanderiana. I'd just let it do what it wants, at least for now. Definitely a tropical plant that should stay above 50F-55F all of the time.
