Could anybody help with an ID of this tree? I'm intrigued by the even length of the ‘branchlets’. Location: BC, Coquihalla, Needle Peak near treeline (around 1600 m).
(left tree in the image with 2 trees)
    Thanks!

A fir Abies, most likely Pacific Silver Fir Abies amabilis, but Subalpine Fir Abies lasiocarpa is also possible. A foliage close-up will help tell which.

This specimen is somewhat unusual in apparently suppressing most of the side buds on its shoots, giving the more comb-like sprays.
