My wife picked up for me another contorted philbert(aka. Harry Lauder Walking Stick), but this one was a red leafed variety. Very cool lokking by the way! I looked on line, and think that this is a Red Majestic. At least that was until I saw another one of these at a local nursery. This one was different though. Instead of Red on both sides of the leaf,(same coloring as a Japanese Maple) like mine is, this had red, or a marroon on one side, and the other side of the leaf was a off yellow, to off green. Is this also a Red Majestic, or a different hybrid altogether? And is that what mine is? I absolutely love the Contorted Philbert, and have a 30 nyear old one( normal green variety) in my patio that is about 16-18' tall, with a 14-16' crown. I bought my house 12 years ago, and immediately fell in love with this tree, and as soon as we bought the place, I removed all the cedar, and firs from around it to let it grow out and flourish. Now I am tryind to add some more, and want to make sure I don't kill them....=).

    Thank you
    Will
