We have had a spell of serious cold weather here in the lower mainland of BC. Have not seen this type of cold since 1985 on our property. I did a walk about and inspected several of our containers, thought what the heck, time to make a video
I like fibreglass pots — they are lightweight & have nice appearance - I have spray painted some I found at recycle depot - others I bought a few yr ago Cdn Tire garden centre i use them for ferns & hostas and some summer annuals usually I find a plain black plastic nursery pot that fits inside so I can change out plants easily QUESTIONS 1. pots require more attn any season - how often do you water in summer (if your city allows you to water ) 2. how do you stop the snow load from destroying your greenhouse (yes the coast had a lot of snow) - other than staying up all night and day :) 3. Your family dog is quite a character - choc lab? again thank you for the snowmageddon garden tour - inspired by @Margot - I started a tour 2024 thread if you’d like to contribute https://forums.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/threads/2024-virtual-garden-tour-welcome.103991/
@Georgia Strait -We water our container grown trees daily in summer. Although we are on city water we also have a well that is used for all of our watering. Great water as it was our drinking water as well up until 2013 when we switched to city water. Also made a video on watering container grown trees as well on my youtube channel - The snow always slides off the green house on its own, never ever had an issue with that (yet) - yes "Frankie" chocolate lab, will turn one year old Feb.o1! - will check out the 2024 thread this afternoon
