    This would appear to be Toricellia tiliifolia.
    However, there is very little on www and only a few pics.
    Has anyone got access to more learned sites/ books that would confirm if we are correct or not?

    Taken on the way between Gantok and Pelling. Sikkim. India.

    Your ID would seem to be borne out by TROPICOS, although all they've got is the line drawing from Flora of China.

    Compare.
